Quiltch v2.0

In this piece, the body is pitted against technology, as the body must knock over and disconnect a pair of speakers in order to stop a sound that is endlessly feeding back while in a strenuous position (a headstand). These sounds are also triggered by the body; the performer must play a MIDI keyboard with their toes. Quiltch v2.0 begins as something funny (a performer in their underwear standing on their head playing a keyboard with their toes) and become something dire (same performer still inverted after almost five minutes, 10 speakers being knocked over, performer collapsing). There is a coerciveness to this risky yet meaningless athleticism; the body is pushing itself to its limits for seemingly comical ends that become dangerous over time.
